A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane landed based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.

The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.

This incident isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.

Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to head back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
