Nico O’Reilly Another assured showing from the rising star after his first cap versus another side. A teammate did not capitalize on the most of an exquisite flick over the opposing backline. His position looks secure so soon. 7/10

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning for his country. Slightly sloppy in possession though his whipped set-pieces were a threat. An effective game manager for the boss to utilize versus defensive opponents. Shown a yellow after a reckless tackle. 6

The midfielder Crosses from dead balls and free kicks caused problems. Had license to roam in left midfield only to be in an offside position as the pass came with a chance to score. Awarded a deserved break on the hour mark. 6

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced spot down the right and did plenty of the hard yards. Displayed flashes of quality but dragged an attempt wide. Substituted late on by a teammate, his rival, after receiving a caution. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity in the opening period, his strike excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate staying deep, it fell to him to offer an outlet out wide but his crosses from the touchline varied in quality. Replaced with 15 to go. 6

The captain The difference-maker netting seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals at international level. The first a typical opportunist's goal and the second an excellent headed goal following a clever run off his defender. At 32, he’s only getting better and the side are strong contenders next summer when he's in the team. 8

The attacker Struggled to influence play out wide. Was presented with a decent opportunity after being played in from a teammate but Strakosha made the save. His replacement made much more of effect in his place. 5/10
