Trump's Granddaughter Seeks Expert Advice from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has substantial online following
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile supporters when she makes her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates several courses worldwide and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He essentially told me to go out there and enjoy myself," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, so he's quite busy."
As an amateur, Kai has competed in only three events this year and holds ranking 461 in AJGA listings.
But she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He is the top athlete globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive person. He told me to go out there, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in professional golf at the Annika, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to different demographics, particularly with youth audiences.
The young star maintains substantial online presence and recently launched her own clothing and lifestyle brand.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
